How to download an Instagram video without a watermark
- Copy the link. In the Instagram app, open the Reel or post, tap the paper-plane icon (or ⋯), then Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the browser bar while the post is open.
- Paste it here. Tap the box at the top of this page and paste. On most phones the Paste button inside the box does it in one tap.
- Download. Keep MP4 video (HD) selected and tap Download MP4. In 3–10 seconds a Download button appears — tap it and the clean file saves to your device.
No app, no browser extension, no account. One box, one button, one file.
Why your saved Instagram videos have a watermark
Instagram has its own Download option in the share menu for some public Reels. It's handy, but the file it gives you is a re-rendered copy: Instagram stamps its logo and the creator's @username on it, and it may end with an Instagram outro. That stamp is the "watermark" (or "water maker", as it's often typed) people want to avoid — for example when they're saving their own Reel to post on TikTok or YouTube Shorts, where re-uploads with another app's logo can be shown to fewer people.
This tool takes a different route. It fetches the original video file that Instagram's player streams, the same file the creator uploaded, which never had the logo on it. Nothing is cropped, blurred or painted over — there was no watermark to remove in the first place. More on this in why Instagram downloads have a watermark.
What you can download
| Link type | Example | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Reels | instagram.com/reel/… | MP4 with sound, usually 720×1280 |
| Video posts | instagram.com/p/… | MP4 of the video (first video in a carousel) |
| IGTV / long videos | instagram.com/tv/… | MP4, up to 30 minutes |
| Audio only | any of the above | MP3 of the soundtrack |
| Stories, private accounts | — | Not supported (they need a login) |
| Photo-only posts | — | Not supported (no video to save) |
For carousels with several videos, paste the post link and you'll get the first video. Our Reels download guide covers the different link formats in detail.
Other names for the same thing
People look for this in a lot of ways: Instagram video download without watermark, Instagram Reels downloader no watermark, download Instagram video HD, Instagram video download with sound, Instagram video download online, or just IG video download. It's the same job every time: get the original video file onto your phone or computer, clean, with the sound. This page does all of them.
Built to be the clean one
Most Instagram downloader sites make money by stacking pop-ups, redirects and fake "Download" buttons around the real one. People on Reddit complain about it constantly — "packed with pop-ups, shady redirects, fake buttons" is how one maker described the sites that pushed them to build their own. InstaNoMark has one download button, and it's the one that appears after your file is ready. No pop-ups, no new tabs, no "install our app" screens.
Saving the video on your phone
- iPhone and iPad: Safari saves downloads to the Files app → Downloads. Open the video there, tap Share, then Save Video to put it in Photos. Step-by-step with fixes in our iPhone guide.
- Android: Chrome saves to Downloads. The video also appears in your Gallery or Google Photos under Downloads.
- Computer: The file lands in your browser's Downloads folder and plays in QuickTime, VLC, Windows Media Player and every video editor.
Why a link might not work
- Private account or Story — Instagram only shows these to signed-in followers, so we can't fetch them.
- Deleted or archived post — if the link opens a "Sorry, this page isn't available" screen on Instagram, it won't work here either.
- Photo-only post — there's no video to download. Long-press the photo in the app to save it.
- Busy moments — if Instagram is slow to respond, wait a minute and try again.
The message under the box tells you which one it was.
